My work responds to landscape and the elements. Something observed - an object, or raw material - can be the source for the development of an idea. The choice of method and medium that I use is led by the idea. Current concepts that inspire me include notions of transience, disintegration and regeneration.
The following monoprints include experimental work, some of which has been prepared and printed outdoors - in the elements. Included are prints from Our Red Earth, a research project funded by a memorial award supported by the Arts Council of Wales. |
Bouncing Light is a monoprint series in which the work was drawn directly on to the plates while standing in the stream, and then printed by hand out-of-doors.
